Chapter 12: Review System: Turning Experience into Skill

12.1 Three Layers of Review

First, single-trade review.

Check whether the trade followed the plan. The focus is not profit/loss, but system execution.

Second, periodic review.

Weekly or monthly, summarize which models produced profit and which mistakes repeated.

Third, strategy review.

Judge whether the strategy still fits current market state and whether it should be paused, reduced, or revalidated.

12.2 Single-Trade Review Questions

After each trade, answer:

  1. Was a plan written before entry?
  2. Was market state clear?
  3. Was the key location clear?
  4. Was the entry trigger met?
  5. Was stop set in advance?
  6. Was position size calculated by formula?
  7. Did exit follow the plan?
  8. What was the biggest mistake?
  9. Should this trade be taken again next time?

A profitable trade that was done randomly should still be marked as an error. Bad process that makes money reinforces bad habits.

12.3 Weekly Review Template

Total trades this week:
Trades following plan:
Rule violations:
Total R-multiple:
Largest single loss:
Longest losing streak:
Best-performing model:
Worst-performing model:
Repeated mistakes:
Conditions to keep next week:
Behaviors forbidden next week:

Weekly review is about reducing mistakes, not predicting next week.

12.4 Build Your Trading Manual

As review accumulates, fix your trading manual. It should include:

  • Which markets and timeframes you trade.
  • Which trade models you use.
  • Entry conditions for each model.
  • Stop conditions for each model.
  • Exit methods for each model.
  • Single-trade and total risk limits.
  • Whether to trade before or after events.
  • Pause rules after consecutive losses.

Without a manual, the knowledge base is only knowledge. The manual is the system you actually execute.

12.5 Final Learning Path

The complete learning path can be summarized:

Read structure -> Find location -> Wait for reaction -> Build plan -> Calculate size -> Execute -> Review -> Iterate rules

This is also the main line for future expansion of the knowledge base.
